Product Description

When a manuscript comes alive..... The Arabesque introduces the ‪#‎breakfree‬ series. This new set of artistic direction is dedicated to the concept of one's individualism and identity and not being bounded to a two-dimensional page of an old manuscript. Rather break free and don't be defined by text and tradition. This decorative wood home decor piece is inspired by the illustrations of a 13th century copy of an encyclopedic work on animals in the Kitab al-Haywanat (Book of Animals or the Na't) written by the Baghdadi physician for the Abbasid caliphs, Ibn Bakhtishu in the 9th century. The scene depicted here is the entry for rabbits. The trees which flank the two rabbits are woodburned and closely resemble the style of the artist who painted the 13th century manuscript. And we selected and repurposed the perfect set of vintage bunnies to make this scene come alive and break free from the original! This unique one of a kind home decor piece is perfect for a unique space in your home office or nursery. Break free and arabesque today. This one will go fast! The base measures 8 x 8 x 1 inches and the height of the piece is 9 inches.
